A few words about me

My name is Taryck Tahid, also known as TJ. I was born in April 2007, I'm 16 years old and live in British Columbia, Canada. I am Canadian as well as Ghanaian. I can speak both French and English fluently.

Currently, I play professionally for Vancouver FC in the Canadian Premier League.

In my early years, my position was 7 or 9 (right wing; striker). As I became smarter about the game I quickly moved in the formation to number 10 (center attacking midfield) and still play there until this day. I'm very versatile, in that I have played and done training for every position and experienced how it is.

I am 5’10” (304cm) and 160 pounds (72.6kg). I have the record in the Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows school district, British Columbia for 100m (12.71s) and 200m (27.94s) in the under 12 division in Track & Field. I am the youngest player in history in the CPL.

I am predominantly right-footed but very substantial with my left foot. I have many qualities including vision, intelligence of the game, leadership, passing, dribbling, and passion for the game.

What my coaches say

ANASTAZI AHAYO

Coach

I've been coaching TJ for over a year. During this time I have watched him mature remarkably.
He has demonstrated a generous amount of leadership qualities often not only focusing on his development but also helping with that of his teammates. He is responsible, talented and respectful. Beyond that, he is intelligent and receptive to learning new skills. These are not only the qualities of a good football player but also of a great young man.

VICENTE RIFATERRA

Coach

In my experience, coaching Taryck is a great job because he is very coachable and listens very eagerly and is willing to always improve.
He has very good skills - physical, technical and tactical. Whatever level of drill I give him, he does his best and knows the whole process is to achieve his big and small goals.
If he keeps improving his current physical state and keeps his strong mindset, he will easily reach his dreams.

Coach

TJ is the perfect balance between talent and hard work to unlock his full potential.
He proves that it is all about working for his ultimate career goal to play internationally, and not about one system or an organization.
He's been called to change the paradigm on Canada youth soccer development.
